Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

Short version: SEC Insider is a research tool built on public SEC data. You don't create an account, we don't ask for personal information, and we don't track you across the web. This page explains the little data that's involved and your choices.

1. Who we are

SEC Insider ("we", "us") operates secinsider.ai. For any privacy question or request, contact [privacy@secinsider.ai]. Operator/controller: [legal entity, jurisdiction].

2. We don't require accounts

You can browse, search, and screen without signing up. There is no login, no password, and no user profile on our servers. Any watchlist or preferences you create are stored locally in your browser (via localStorage) — that data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser storage deletes it.

3. Analytics (privacy-friendly, no cookies)

We use a cookieless, privacy-first analytics service (for example, Plausible or Fathom) to understand aggregate traffic — page views, referrers, country, device type. It does not use cookies, does not create a persistent identifier, and does not build a profile of you or track you across other sites. Because no personal data is processed for tracking, no cookie-consent banner is required.

4. Advertising (contextual, not behavioral)

We may show ads from contextual ad partners (for example, EthicalAds or Carbon Ads). Contextual ads are matched to the content of the page, not to you — these partners do not load third-party tracking pixels, do not set advertising cookies, and do not build a cross-site profile. If we ever introduce behavioral/programmatic advertising that does track users, we will update this policy and present a consent choice before any such tracking occurs.

5. Affiliate links

Some links to third-party products (research tools, brokers, books) are affiliate links: if you click and sign up or buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We disclose this wherever such links appear. Affiliate partners and their networks may set their own cookies on their own sites after you click, to attribute the referral — that activity is governed by those partners' privacy policies, not ours. Affiliate relationships never influence our grades, metrics, or findings, which are computed from filings.

6. Server logs & security

Like any website, our hosting provider may automatically record standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, user agent) for security, abuse-prevention, and reliability. These are retained for a short period ([e.g., 30 days]) and not used to build user profiles or for advertising.

7. What we do not do

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., the EU/UK under GDPR/UK GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data we hold, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold little or no personal data about visitors, there is usually nothing to retrieve — but you can exercise any right by emailing [privacy@secinsider.ai] and we will respond within the time the law requires.

9. Children

SEC Insider is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Data location & processors

We rely on third-party processors for hosting, analytics, and advertising delivery, which may process data in the United States or elsewhere. We use providers that support appropriate safeguards and data-processing terms. [List processors once chosen: host, analytics, ad partner, affiliate networks.]

11. Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be noted on this page.

SEC Insider is an independent research and information tool. It is not investment advice and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Data is sourced from public SEC filings and other public records. See the Terms of Service.
